Apprenticeship Information Session
Description
All types and sizes of businesses from across Northwest Lower Michigan seeking Information Technology employees are invited to attend an apprenticeship information session Monday, April 22 in Traverse City. The information session will run from Noon to 1:30 pm at the Northwest Michigan Works! American Job Center, 1209 S. Garfield Ave.
The session will include information about what an apprenticeship is, the process of developing a program, and using apprenticeships to fill workforce gaps. Occupations discussed will include Computer Support Specialist, Cyber Security Tech, Computer Programmer, IT Project Manager, IT Generalist, Health Information Management, Customer Service Representative, and more. The event will also provide an overview of potential funding options and career pathways in the information technology field.

Registered apprenticeships are offered through the U.S. Department of Labor and are a proven training method for employers to build a talent pipeline of highly skilled, educated employees. Northwest Michigan Works! provides technical assistance and administrative support for registered apprenticeships, including development and implementation guidance.
