CHEBOYGAN, Mich., March 3, 2026 – Consumers Energy is letting customers in nine Northern Michigan counties know that assistance to help them stay safe, comfortable, and warm is available today.

The nonprofit Superior Watershed Partnership is enrolling eligible customers today in Consumers Energy’s CARE program, which helps households stay on top of their energy bills. The program is one of several ways Consumers Energy is helping the public this winter.

The Superior Watershed Partnership is actively supporting Consumers Energy customers in Alpena, Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet, Leelanau, Montmorency, Otsego, and Presque Isle counties.

To enroll in CARE through the Superior Watershed Partnership, Consumers Energy customers can call 2-1-1, a free resource that connects families with nonprofits and resources.
