Saturday, November 2nd, 9am – 4pm AND Sunday, November 3rd , 11am – 4pm
Location: Grass River Natural Area, 6500 Alden Hwy, Bellaire MI 9615

Winter is a great time to get outside and experience the beauty of Northern Michigan and there is no better way to traverse a snowy landscape than on snowshoes. In this two-day workshop, learn how to lace traditional Ojibwa-style snowshoes from an experienced instructor. The workshop will feature snowshoe kits from Country Ways® of Minneapolis, MN. Frames are made of White Ash and lacing material is tubular nylon. Each kit also includes “Modified H” style bindings. In addition to frame kits and bindings, class fee also includes polyurethane finish, and all instruction. Most participants will finish lacing one snowshoe on the first day and begin working on the second. It is possible that you will not need the entire two days to finish your snowshoes. Participants should plan to bring their lunch and we will provide coffee, water, and snacks.
Class size is limited to 10 participants and recommended for ages 15+ (under 18 w/ adult). Pre-registration is REQUIRED no later than October 26, 2019 in order to have time to order materials. Full payment is due at time of registration. Cancellations two weeks prior to class (on or before October 19th) will be fully refunded minus a $25 cancellation fee. No refund will be given after October 19th.
