Description
The Music House Museum presents Damaris Pike, in Thanks for the Memories: An Evening with Dolores Hope. This evening of song and story is part of Pike's acclaimed Women of Note Series, which brings history to life by telling the stories of the lives of notable figures in her unique one woman shows. Pike will tell of the life of Bob Hope through the eyes of his wife, Dolores, in this production. Hear intimate tales of their adventures together and songs from the era.
The “Women of Note” were launched in 1988 when Damaris Peters Pike decided to take her knowledge of music history to the general public by dramatizing women in music. Due to the success of her first show, “The Second Mrs. Bach.”, requests for additional characters led to an additional ten characters, ranging from a 12th century nun to 20th century figures like Beverly Sills, Dolores Hope, and Doris Day.
A native of Vernon, Texas, Mrs. Pike earned the Bachelor of Music Education from Texas Christian University and the Master of Music in Voice Performance from Kent State University. Professor of Music Emerita at Hiram College. She is listed in “Who’s Who Among Women” and “Who’s Who in Entertainment".
