Join GTRLC staff and AmeriCorps members on a short birding hike through the natural area to discover what birds are utilizing this stretch of protected land. St. Clair Lake- Six Mile lake is one of several sites that are featured in the Sunset Coast Birding Trail, (sunsetcoastbirdingtrail.org) which provides information about birding in the region and highlights sites that offer prime birding opportunities. This event is part of a larger series of hikes to promote the grand opening of the birding trail. The st. Clair Lake - Six Mile Lake Natural Area encompasses a variety of high quality wetland habitat types and protects over a mile of frontage on the Sinclair River and the St. Clair Creek. Participants should expect a short hike to a viewing platform. Although the guided hike does not include a trip on the water, paddlers should be aware of the opportunity. The site provides access to the water for kayaks & canoes. For details please contact Jake Bournay at jbournay@gtrlc.org. Directions & Property Info: https://goo.gl/sQqkQH |
