TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN - Traverse City SCORE will host its first free evening workshop of the year Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Traverse Area District Library, 610 Woodmere Ave. "Getting Your Start as an Entrepreneur" is the first SCORE workshop to feature a new format that is streamlined in multiple ways.
The evening workshops are held monthly and last an hour and a half. Registration is limited; go to www.upnorthscore.com and click on the Workshops link to preregister.
Aspiring entrepreneurs or people in the early start-up stages can learn about starting and operating a business, including:
- What it takes to be a successful entrepreneur
- How to start a business
- Pros and cons of owning your own business
- Overview of business plans, licensing and regulatory issues, finance, marketing, and much more
Presenters will include SCORE mentors as well as other experts from the community.
SCORE is a resource partner of the Small Business Administration (SBA) and provides educational workshops and confidential small business mentoring services free of charge. SCORE Traverse City has over 40 local volunteer business professionals with a broad range of experience available to mentor entrepreneurs and small business owners.
