On Thursday, October 3, the Elk Rapids Women will join Denise Moline at Silly Sister’s Pottery for a free pottery throwing, trimming, and glazing, demonstration as well as light refreshments. Moline discovered her artistic side later in life, inspired by her children’s artistic talents. She started with pottery and didn’t need to look any further. “As a potter, I experience an unparalleled sense of adventure, wonder, and delight each and every time I open the kiln and see finished work,” Moline said. A retired attorney, she’s spent 19 years making pottery, and she continues to learn more about her craft each year. She specializes in creating functional, usable pottery at her studio and gallery in Rapid City. A newer resident to Antrim County, the Elk Rapids Women are excited to partner with her to introduce more people to her art and business. The Elk Rapids Women will visit Silly Sister’s Pottery (11421 Hickin Rd. NW, Rapids City, MI 49676) on Thursday, October 3, 6–8:30 p.m. Carpooling is encouraged, as parking is limited. Light refreshments will be provided. To reserve your spot, RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by Tuesday, October 1.
