TRAVERSE CITY, MI – The state of the region's housing, and actions to meet housing needs, will be discussed at the Northwest Michigan Housing Summit October 24 in Traverse City. Community leaders, developers, housing partners, and the public are invited to attend the Summit which will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Hagerty Center, 715 East Front Street.
The Housing Summit will feature a keynote presentation by the MacArthur Foundation focused on new research and how it impacts policy decisions. Summit attendees will also help plan an awareness campaign about housing in Northwest Michigan; learn about financing alternatives for housing in small cities and rural communities; and discuss local government roles and opportunities to impact housing needs.
Other topics on the Summit agenda include discussion of a housing partnership for Northwest Michigan; community and developer networking; and the presentation of the Housing Leadership Award.
