Music Under the Pines Outdoor Concert Series at Twisted Fish Gallery

Thursday, August 27th from 6pm to 7:30pm- Featuring Jenny Thomas, Will Thomas, Emily Williams & Doug Zernow

The Twisted Fish, is excited to welcome back Jenny Thomas, an Elk Rapids alum and long time Traverse City music scene favorite. Jenny represents the passionate world of songwriters who play for the love of the song, who sing as joyfully round camp fires and kitchen tables as they do on stage at music festivals across the region.

Exceptional, Original Songwriting. . .
“Jenny’s songs tell stories inspired by everyday life here in northern Michigan: the ups and downs; the beauty in the leap of a white tail deer; the mischief and grace in her late mother’s curious gift giving; the super glue, literal and metaphoric, which binds us together. And, she delivers these tales with great compassion, positivity and gentle humor. We just love her and we know you will too,” says Twisted Fish Events Coordinator, Bob Streit, Jr. Accompanying Jenny is her son, Will Thomas, known by many as “Traverse City’s best drummer,” and Doug Zernow, a northern Michigan music scene stalwart on lead guitar.

Emily Williams Opens the Show. . .
The very talented Emily Williams will play a set of her own original indie art rock to open the evening before joining Jenny to loan soulful harmonies to several songs. Emme grew up here but cut her teeth on the Chicago underground music scene where she wrote, sang, and played keyboards in the bands Fastness and Watery Follies. A few years back she returned home to Northern Michigan and added guitar to her brilliant keyboard work. Emme offers a mix of covers and originals ‘in the pursuit of hope and catharsis for us all’

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets & a picnic to snuggle up on the front lawn of our Cottage Gallery with friends and familty.

Come early to stake out your spot. This is a FREE concert, but donations for our musicians will be welcomed with a "passing of the hat."
