The Michigan Open Championship—the state’s oldest and most prestigious annual tournament—is returning to The Bear at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about the tournament, The Bear, and the Resort. We invite you to come out and watch the 102nd Michigan Open and see golf history in the making!
Dates and Details for Spectators
The tournament begins Monday, June 10, and ends Thursday, June 13, 2019.
The tournament is open for public viewing at no charge.
Spectators should follow standard golf course etiquette and dress codes.
The Championship is a 72-hole stroke play event open to all male golfers who are Michigan residents or any Michigan Section Member in good standing having been employed for no less than 60 days at a recognized golf facility prior to the Championship.
The starting field will consist of 156 exempt and qualified contestants. The field will be cut to the low 70 and ties after second round play for the remaining 36 holes.
A tie for first place will be decided by a sudden-death playoff immediately following the completion of the final round.
Purse payout is for those who return a 72-hole score.
