Living with an UpNorth Icon: the Mich...
Description
Speaker: Kathleen Keen

Learn about how Michigan monitors and manages the black bear population. Learn about bear biology! People live, work, and play in areas with bear daily, find ways you can continue to live together with wild animals.
Kathleen Keen grew up in Midland County and went to Michigan State University. She couldn’t find a job right away in Michigan, so she moved to Missouri and was a conservation law officer.
She moved back to Michigan and in 2004, joined the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in the Cadillac office. Kathleen was able to work in Gladwin and Bay City; but, came back again to the Cadillac area. Currently, she does communications work in the wildlife world which ranges from education settings, to awareness material, to videos, to writing press releases. All connecting people to wildlife!
