Elk Rapids District Library Celebrates National Library Week With Open House on Friday, April 12
The Elk Rapids District Library, together with the Friends of the Elk Rapids District Library and the Capital Campaign Committee will celebrate National Library Week with an Open House on Friday, April 12, 2019. Please join us for this family-friendly event which will include refreshments and a special exhibit of handmade and altered books by area artists. This show, called “Book-Paper-Scissors” is offered in collaboration with the Jordan River Arts Council. An update on the library capital campaign will be shared.
An ongoing capital campaign to raise money for the restoration and expansion of the Elk Rapids District Library is underway following the village trustees’ approval of the plan by a 6-1 vote in September. Friends of the Elk Rapids District Library have already raised more than $1 million in donations and pledges for the 6,300 square-foot project.
The Open House will be at the Elk Rapids District Library at 300 Isle of Pines in Elk Rapids on Friday, April 12 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Donations for the restoration and expansion of the library can be sent to the Friends of the Library, P.O Box 337, Elk Rapids, MI 49629.
