3D Embroidery: Stitch a Trillium

Join Grass River Natural Area in celebrating the return of spring wildflowers by stitching a large-flowered trillium (trillium grandiflorum) that literally pops out of the fabric! This flower blooms in northwestern Michigan's woodlands from late April through late May, and can even be seen on the Antrim County seal. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of hand embroidery, including four or more different kinds of stitches. You will be guided through the steps to create your own three-dimensional trillium flower and will leave with a partially-finished project plus all the materials and knowledge needed to complete it. It is suitable for participants of all skill levels, ages 16 and up; beginner and intermediate variations will be offered. Having some hand sewing experience will be helpful.
