From Within II Exhibit – “A Departure From Reality”

Description

Bringing “unconventional approaches to visual experiences,” the exhibit, From Within II, opens at Twisted Fish Gallery July 7 and runs through July 30. An opening reception will take place July 7 from 6- 8:oo p.m and is open to the public with refreshments provided.
Seeing the world through a prism of individual emotion, each of the 20 artists represent their personal perspective in unparalled ways.
Bob Streit, owner of Twisted Fish Gallery, says, “It’s a rare occasion to bring many artists to one exhibit. It will challenge and excite viewers, and should this not be missed.”
The artists, along with their paintings and mixed media assemblage pieces, have all been carefully selected for “From Within II.”  Each artist may have their own terminology, calling their works abstract, modern, contemporary or nonrepresentational. The lines between these categories are often confusing and debated. However, in all cases, the artistic appreciation, understanding or beauty is in the eye of both the artist and the beholder.
All of the art in this show and sale reflects a departure from reality in the depiction of imagery in the art. Both the artist and the viewer play essential roles in creating each piece. It is the viewer’s interpretation and understanding, coupled with the artist’s talent, which brings each piece to life.
This special exhibit will challenge and excite viewers as they engage in the understanding and appreciation of the artists’ work. The following artists are part of the From Within II exhibit:
Vallerie Allen, Cherie Correll, Joe DeLuca, Jerry Gates, Ron Gianola, Mary Guntzviller, Marcia Hales, Daniel Heron, Katherine K. Jones, Dave Krause, Tony Macioce, Mark Mehaffey, Del Michel, Charles Murphy, William Sievert, Rufus Snoddy, James Stark, Paul Welch, Bill White, and Margaret White.
          Twisted Fish Gallery and Sculpture Garden is located at 10443 S. Bayshore Dr. in Elk Rapds, MI and is open from 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday.
