Description
Have you ever considered running for local office? Why not? There's no better way to effect change than to get involved!
Join us Thursday, October 4 at the Old Council Chamber (located in the Elk Rapids Police Department building), where Elk Rapids Village Manager Bill Cooper will explain the inner workings of local government, including how to run for office and what you can expect when you win!
Bill has his master's degree in public administration and managed several cities in Michigan and Illinois prior to coming to Elk Rapids. He was an elected official himself for several years, chair of finance, and oversaw construction of public service buildings, including fire/police and 911 emergency centers. He also successfully ran other candidates' mayoral campaigns. He has been in the field for over 20 years managing cities and training newly elected officials.
