Larry Mawby, owner of Mawby Vineyards, will share the interesting story of his nearly lifelong fascination with horticulture and production of wine. From an early age of his family's farm in Rockford, Michigan and working in their fruit stand in Sutton's Bay, Larry knew he would earn his living via horticulture. A backpacking though the burgundy region of France, while a junior at MSU, began his journey to grow and produce wine. Larry and his wife Lois Bale live in Sutton's Bay. He has served as a director of the Leelanau Conservancy and played a pivotal role in the formation of the state's first wine trail.
