Playing traditional music from Scotland and Ireland & Popular music from across the Globe
Sunday, October 11th, from 4:00 - 5:00 PM!
The Twisted Fish, voted northern Michigan’s Best Art Gallery by Traverse Magazine again in 2026, is thrilled to welcome Carol Kappus for an intimate, early evening of Gaelic and World Music in our Cottage Gallery on the Twisted Fish grounds. Doors open at 3:30 PM on the 11th and guests will be treated to an array of light hors d’oeuvres and a beverage of choice prior to the show at 4:00. Tickets are $30/ person. Seating is limited to 50 guests and audience members are encouraged to reserve tickets early by contacting the Twisted Fish while tickets last.
Carol’s Commitment Carol is not simply a lover and purveyor of Celtic music. She travels frequently to the motherland to train and performs. She has studied Scots Gaelic music and language at the Atlantic Gaelic Academy and Sabhal Mòr Ostaig on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. She’s won competitions at the Scottish Harp Society of America and at the US National Scottish Mòd. She’s studied with American and Scottish masters Kim Robertson, Jim Malcolm, Seumas Gagné and Sue Richards. And, she creates her own arrangements of the songs she performs. Carol’s Charm Carol is a charming performer and story teller. Her Celtic roots run deep but her musical tastes are wide and varied. So, prepare to be soothed and surprised by Irish standards like Danny Boy and Galway Bay, Scots Gaelic numbers like Gradh Geal Mo Chridh, Scottish classics like The Skye Boat Song and American country and pop classics as well. 16 Tons, the Tennessee Earnie Ford hit, and Lean on Me by Bill Withers have both shown up in Carol’s recent set lists. After a feature performance at The Harp Gathering in Archibald, Ohio in May an audience member was moved to write to her stating,“My husband and I enjoyed your performance tonight. You are an amazing entertainer, flawlessly blending your stories, humor and music into an engaging work of art that makes time irrelevant.” We trust she will move her listeners just as profoundly at the Twisted Fish.

The Venue The Cottage Gallery on the Twisted Fish Art Gallery grounds is a beautiful, acoustically fine, 150 year old, red brick home devoted to the hanging of large scale paintings, the display of wood and stone sculpture and the provision of intimate musical experiences. Our cottage is quaint and comfortable and you will feel right at home on the 11th. Parking is ample and free on the gallery grounds.
