Short's Brewing Company and WNMC 90.7 are pleased to announce the next concert of a summer long Connemara Community Concert series at the historic Elk Rapids Town Hall, featuring Ireland's talented Celtic Bluegrass quartet, JigJam.  The show is set for Thursday August 10th, 2017 at 7:30 at the old Town Hall on River Street in Elk Rapids.

 

      JigJam is the hottest new act on the Celt-grass music scene. This Offaly quartet have developed a new, exciting, energy-fueled live sound blending the best of bluegrass and Irish folk music. The band comprises Jamie McKeogh (Guitar, tenor banjo and lead vocals), Daithi Melia (5 String Banjo and vocals). Cathal Guinan (Double Bass, fiddle and vocals) and Gavin Strappe(Mandolin, tenor banjo and vocals).

 

      JigJam's debut album "Oh Boy!" is a tour de force of Irish and Americana music, and a brilliant representation of their live show. It has been described as "A scintillating debut album from a great bunch of young guys. JigJam are a terrific live act" by Enda Scahill of We Banjo 3.      This gifted quartet creates a unique blend of Celtic, Bluegrass and Americana music that captures the heart of every audience.  They were  one of the showcased acts of last year's Milwaukee Irish Festival and were warmly embraced by the islanders when they made their second performance on Beaver Island last September.  They brought their magic to Antrim's County's Historic Ellk Rapids Town hall last Labor Day weekend with a sold out show that was a joy for all.

      Antrim County's Old Town Hall in Elk Rapids will be a great spot to experience the music of Ireland with this performance by JigJam.  The performance is set for Thursday evening August 10th at 7:30 p.m. at Elk Rapids' Historic Town Hall on River Street.  The venue is air-conditioned and a cash bar will be available.
