Artist Valerie Allen will speak on a wide variety of tools and techniques for use in mixed media projects at, "Explorations in Mixed Media.” Perfect for artists of all levels of experience, this free event will be at Twisted Fish Gallery Saturday morning, July 29, from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
Attendees will learn about the wide range of GOLDEN Acrylic paints and mediums, giving a good understanding of the many products and their different attributes. Learn how to make the right choices in grounds and colors for the best intended application and for archival quality. Creation of washes, stains, and collage will also be discussed.
“We’re excited to offer this talk and demonstration for artists of all levels and anyone interested in art in all its vibrant capacity,” says Twisted Fish Gallery owner Bob Streit.
Allen will also cover the use of stencils, paint markers, pastels, and pencils, as well as the creation of encaustic-like effects, and how to use iridescent and interference colors to add unique qualities to artwork.
Learn new techniques and be inspired by innovative applications. Attendees will receive a selection of sample sized products to take home and explore the breadth and depth of GOLDEN’s professional product line that now includes GOLDEN Acrylic paints, QoR Watercolors and Williamsburg Oil Paint.
