Elk Rapids celebrates our 20th annual summer of fun with ART BEAT of Elk Rapids on Saturday, June 7, 2025, featuring three of Northern Michigan’s award winning, fine art galleries. Come visit all three galleries from 10am to 5pm for art demonstrations, special prize giveaways, drawings for gift certificates, refreshments, and more! Three $100 gift certificates will be drawn from those visiting all three locations during the day.
 
Mullaly’s 128 Studio & Gallery, enjoying its 33^rd year representing excellence in fine art, is located on River Street in downtown Elk Rapids. Mullaly’s offers the finest selection of high-quality glass in Northern Michigan and has been recognized as the finest jewelry gallery in the area. Mullaly’s 128 will be hosting Northport acrylic artist Moira Racich throughout the day, while she demonstrates her paintings, highlighting night scenes and awesome skies.
 
Blue Heron Gallery, located east of Route 31 on Ames Street for 24years, shows hundreds of Michigan artists with the largest collection of paintings in the area. Gallery owner Dan Reszka, widely known for his watercolors, will be demonstrating from 10am to noon. A drawing will be held for Dan’s prints.  In addition, artist Kathy Amerman will demonstrate her textile weaving from 11 to 2, and Kay Looyengoed will demonstrate her watercolor paintings from noon to 3.
 
Twisted Fish Gallery, located south of Elk Rapids along Route 31, has been serving artists and collectors for 22 years, and features many large paintings, and an outdoor sculpture garden. The Gallery will be holding an hourly gift certificate drawing. In addition, artists will be on site throughout the day demonstrating their work including, Dave Rife – wood turning; Barbara Greenwood – art therapy and handmade greeting cards; Richard Stoker – abstract drawings, greeting cards, and posters; Charles Murphy – watercolor paintings; and Brian Goff and Douglas Barron – oil paintings. Elk Rapids’ ART BEAT is a wonderful way to begin the summer season of art and fun. Come join us for this free, family-friendly event. Light refreshments will be available throughout the day.
