A Local Filmmaker Comes Home
Short Films by Riley Miracle · Elk Rapids High School Class of 2022 · DePaul University BFA in Film & Television ProductionRiley Miracle grew up in Elk Rapids and graduated from Elk Rapids High School in 2022. She recently earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television Production with a concentration in Directing from DePaul University in Chicago, where she worked on over 15 film productions and was a member of Delta Kappa Alpha, a professional cinematic society. Two of her films are Official Selections at the AmAuteur Film Festival in Chicago.
Riley's passion for storytelling is driven by a desire to understand, preserve, and share human perspectives and the complex web that connects us all. Her filmmaking style is provoking and distinctive, challenging audiences to ask more questions about themselves, each other, and the world around them. She draws inspiration from John Carpenter, Stephen King, Tim Burton, Jim Henson, David Lynch, Jordan Peele, and Robert Eggers — and her parents, Bryon and Joann Miracle. Alongside live-action filmmaking, she practices stop-motion animation, blurring the line between fiction and reality through practical effects and puppetry.
We are honored to host the premiere of her short films at the Elk Rapids Cinema. Admission is free, with donations supporting Riley's next projects.
