Description
Mike Fornes, journalist and historian of the Mackinaw Straits area will give a presentation at the Elk Rapids District Library on Monday, June 24 at 6:30 p.m. entitled 101 Things That Happened on the Mackinac Bridge. Mr. Fornes has covered the bridge as a radio, t.v. and print journalist for over 26 years. He is the journalist that broke the story of a car going over the side. It was listed as one of Michigan's most important news stories in 1989 by the Associated Press. Mr. Fornes also leads tours of the bridge via boat and on land and has given over 2000 talks about the amazing, tragic and humorous things that have taken place on it's 5 mile span.
