Weather Forecast Calls for Full Speed Ahead on Snowmobile Race Ice TrackMidwest International Racing Association (MIRA) Revs Up Winter Excitement with Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel 250 WILLIAMSBURG, MICHIGAN (January 15, 2024)- The Midwest International Racing Association (MIRA) is excited for the ten day weather forecast calling for colder temperatures to continue after the weekend snowfall in northwest lower Michigan through next week. It's ideal timing for the Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel 250 scheduled for Saturday, January 27 and Sunday, January 28, 2024. “The recent lower temperatures have allowed frost to be packed into the ground and now we begin pouring the 800,000 to 1,000,000 gallons of water onto the track to solidify over the next two weeks,” said Lead Operations Manager Charles Wiltse. The Grand Traverse Town Center property on M-72 East in Acme (next to Meijer) has been leveled to provide a smooth oval ice track needed for the high speed races, which can see speeds in excess of 100mph. The Saturday sprint races will offer 5-7 high-intensity laps, and the longer enduro race on Sunday will be a NASCAR-style race with pit stops and crews, electronic scoring, and a pace sled. Tickets for adults 13 years and older will be $15 per day, $20 per weekend; free admission for kids 12 years and younger. Special accommodation rates are available for riders and spectators at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. Call (231) 534-6000 and mention Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel 250 to reserve your room.
