Capitol Christmas Tree: SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4TH, 2pm. Bob Holtzman presents the story of how, in 1981, a 52-foot white spruce from Michigan’s Hiawatha National Forest in the Upper Peninsula was chosen to be the Christmas tree for the lawn at the Capitol in Washington DC and how his father-in-law, Dick Ruppenthal, was chosen to document the tree’s journey from the Upper Peninsula to Washington DC.
