The Chalfonte Theatre welcomes award-winning singer-songwriter Kitty Donohoe to The Platform, its live performance stage, for a special evening concert on Tuesday, August 19th. Known for her warm presence, moving songwriting, and rich folk tradition, Kitty brings decades of musical storytelling to Elk Rapids for what promises to be a memorable performance.

A celebrated figure in Michigan’s folk scene and beyond, Kitty Donohoe has built a remarkable career performing at clubs and festivals across the U.S. and Canada. She has opened for folk legends such as Steve Goodman, Tom Paxton, Doc Watson, and Bruce Cockburn, and even took the stage at a 2008 Obama rally just before Bruce Springsteen.
With a style that blends Americana, Celtic, and roots influences, Kitty’s songs explore everything from personal reflection to political landscapes—always with emotional depth and lyrical grace.
