In Michigan, after septic systems are sited and installed, there is no legal requirement to ever inspect them again. Unfortunately, these systems typically only last 24-30 years and most areas in our region will never connect to public sewers. Dr. Grenetta Thomassey, Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council Program Director, will discuss potential solutions.
