Part-time Office Assistant

First Presbyterian Church is looking for a part-time Office Assistant willing to work 8-10 hours a week assisting Administrative Assistant.  
The Office Assistant will perform a variety of technical and administrative tasks to keep the office running smoothly and support the mission of the church while maintaining confidentiality of all sensitive and personal information.   Salary based on experience.   
Responsibilities include:

  1. Act as receptionist and greet visitors, members, and others in a friendly and professional manner in person as well as on the phone.
  2. Address or refer all communications to the appropriate person or group.
  3. Maintaining the church directory and attendance records.
  4. Update and maintain the church calendar.
  5. Receive, sort and distribute mail.
  6. Assist with the preparation and printing for weekly and special bulletins.
  7. Work with Administrative Assistant to coordinate materials for activities and events including announcement slides, posters, flyers, funeral bulletins, etc.
  8. Perform other administrative support tasks and additional duties as needed.
  1. Must be flexible to deal with changing situations, needs and volunteers.
  2. Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and other office software.
  3. Experience with or willing to learn Constant Contact and other email, social, broadcast, and website software.
  4. Willing and able to learn the church database software.
  5. Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions.
  6. Ability to think in a critical problem-solving manner in daily situations.
  7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and achieve deadlines under pressure.
