DESCRIPTION:The Music House Museum welcomes the Vixen Winds: Interlochen pianist Susan Snyder with flutist Sharron Sparrow and clarinetist Rena Feller\, in concert July 11 at 7:00PM\n\nThe Music House is very proud to welcome the Vixen Winds: Interlochen collaborative pianist Susan Snyder with Detroit Symphony Orchestra flutist Sharron Sparrow and Memphis Symphony Clarinetist Rena Feller\, performing a special program on Friday\, July 11 at 7:00PM. This is a unique opportunity to hear world class musicians perform in our unique environment.\n\nVixen Winds will perform a program which visits various eras and cultures. The Danish Golden Age arrives in the clarinet Fantasy Pieces of Niels Gade\, Parisian tones are present in the flute sonata of Francis Poulenc\, and Robert Muczynski's Duos with their winsome lyricism and exciting rhythmic drive bring us closer to our current American era.\n\nSusan Snyder serves as a Collaborative Pianist at Interlochen Center for the Arts. She has performed as soloist with the Jackson (TN) Orchestra\, the orchestra of the North Carolina School of the Arts\, and the orchestra of the University of Memphis. She has appeared three times on the Memphis Chamber Music Society series\, performed in Martinu Hall as part of the Prague International Chamber Music Festival\, and has spent ten summers as a pianist for Charles Castleman's Quartet Program. Sharon Sparrow is a well-known performer\, author\, and educator. A member of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra's flute section for 28 years\, she recently retired from the orchestra to focus on her teaching\, performing and audition coaching career. Sharon travels extensively giving seminars on her book\, 6 Weeks to Finals\, The Complete Guide to Audition Success\, winner of the 2016 NFA Best New Publications Award. She has also published two volumes of a popular set of duets\, Telemann for Two\, with her colleague Jeffery Zook. A graduate of The Juilliard School and Mannes College of Music Ms. Sparrow has had the privilege of studying with Julius Baker\, Thomas Nyfenger and Geoffrey Gilbert. Rena Feller has played E-flat/Second Clarinetist with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and has been a Rhodes College faculty member since 1986. She also performs with the Memphis Symphony Woodwind Quintet and as a member of the ShearWinds Trio. Ms. Feller earned a Bachelor of Music degree at Oberlin College and a Master of Music degree at the Juilliard School\, where she studied with David Weber. As a solo recitalist and chamber musician\, Ms. Feller has premiered and recorded many contemporary compositions\, including works by her son Max Friedman and her husband Stanley Friedman.
