DESCRIPTION:Help us build trail at the new Maplehurst Natural Area! Volunteers will take part in all tasks required to complete an estimated 6 miles of sustainable\, multi-use trails on the newly protected property. \n\nYou can read more about the Maplehurst Natural Area on your website: https://www.gtrlc.org/recreation-events/preserve/maplehurst-natural-area/.\n\nThe Basics: GTRLC will supply gloves\, tools\, water and snack bars. We will teach you everything you need to know about tool use\, safety\, trail building and maintenance\, no prior experience necessary! This will be a strenuous event\, with participants hiking up to 4 miles and swinging hefty trail tools.\n\nWhat will volunteers be doing: \n\nClearing the trail corridor with loppers\, handsaws and rakes\n\nEstablishing the trail bed with hand tools\n\nFinishing touches including compaction\, sign installation and more\n\nWhat should I bring?\n\nDress for the weather!
