DESCRIPTION:Heading into its ninth year\, the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council's Ice Breaker Winter Speaker Series has developed a strong reputation and hearty following. Bringing warm conversations on hot topics to the community\, this series is the perfect way to heat up during the cold winter months. All series events are held at the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council office\, downtown Petoskey from 12 noon - 1 pm. Space is limited\, so call (231) 347-1181 to reserve your spot! \n\n\n\nDr. Al Arbogast\, Chair of the Department of Geography at Michigan State University\, is one of the world's leading experts on coastal sand dunes. Since coming to Michigan nearly 20 years ago\, Dr. Arbogast has systematically improved our understanding of the age of coastal sand dunes\; including the timing and nature of their development and evolution. In addition to publishing widely on Michigan dunes\, he has served as an expert witness on several controversial dune development projects.
