DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, June 4   Special Fundraiser Concert\n			\n			\n			 \n\n			\n			\n			ROBERT DOWNES: STORIES & SONGS\n\n			A Benefit for the Chalfonte Theatre Capital Campaign\n\n			 \n\n			Thursday\, June 4\n\n			7:00 PM\n\n			 \n\n			This is going to be a really unique evening.\n\n			 \n\n			Traverse City author\, singer-songwriter\, and storyteller Robert Downes brings his multimedia Stories & Songs performance to The Platform for a special fundraising event benefiting the Chalfonte Theatre Capital Campaign.\n\n			 \n\n			Blending live music\, storytelling\, photography\, projected visuals\, literature\, travel\, and history\, the evening feels somewhere between a concert\, a theatrical cabaret\, and a spoken-word journey.\n\n			Downes will be joined by percussionist Mark Cantrell.\n\n			Last fall\, the show debuted to an overflow audience at the Traverse City Opera House\, and I think audiences here are going to love it. It's thoughtful\, moving\, funny\, adventurous\, and unlike anything else we've hosted this season.\n\n			A suggested donation of $10 is encouraged\, with all proceeds supporting our capital campaign to preserve and strengthen the historic home of the Elk Rapids Cinema\, Village Radio\, and The Platform.
