SUMMARY:Rain Gardens - Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council
DESCRIPTION:Heading into its ninth year\, the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council's Ice Breaker Winter Speaker Series has developed a strong reputation and hearty following. Bringing warm conversations on hot topics to the community\, this series is the perfect way to heat up during the cold winter months. All series events are held at the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council office\, downtown Petoskey from 12 noon - 1 pm. Space is limited\, so call (231) 347-1181 to reserve your spot! \n\n\n\nIf you like the idea of beautifying your landscape while protecting water quality at the same time\, then come learn how to design and install a rain garden. As one example of what is known as green infrastructure\, rain gardens capture and clean pollutants out of runoff from rooftops\, driveways\, and sidewalks. Simple yet effective\, rain gardens are becoming increasingly popular among homeowners\; with just a few months to go before spring\, you should have just enough time to plan your own.
