DESCRIPTION:The Elk Rapids Women have rescheduled their regular May event to make time to celebrate the community and mothers this May. \n\nIn lieu of meeting the first Thursday of the month\, the Elk Rapids Women will attend the Elk Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce's Community Awards Dinner Thursday\, May 3 at 6 p.m. at the Williamsburg Event Center. In addition to honoring the chamber's Presidential Award winners\, the Community Service Award winner\, and the Volunteer of the Year\, the Elk Rapids Women will also recognize their 2018 Woman of the Year.\n\nThe following week\, the Elk Rapids Women hold their regular monthly meeting where they will paint picture frames for Mother's Day with Monica Cory from Aurora's Cottage. Located downtown Elk Rapids\, Aurora's Cottage is a magical\, transformational place where it's safe and fun to connect\, create\, and celebrate! Practicing creativity and fun\, Cory dares to imagine how things could be different by reimagining\, repurposing\, recycling\, and redecorating. On May 10\, she will show how to give new life to old frames with nothing more than chicken wire and chalk paint. \n\nThe Elk Rapids Women invite you to join them Thursday\, May 10 at 6 p.m. at the Twisted Fish's Cottage Gallery. Cost to attend is $12 for Elk Rapids Women members and $15 for non-members. To reserve a spot\, RSVP to elkrapidswomen@gmail.com by Monday\, May 7.
