DESCRIPTION:Elk Rapids kicks off the Summer Spectacular Art Tour with Art Beat of Elk Rapids on Saturday\, June 3\, 2017.  Three of northern Michigan's award winning galleries will be participating in an open house gallery walk from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.   \n\n \n\nEach Elk Rapids gallery is special\, and all offer original fine art\, along with many affordable artist-made items.  Three $100  gift certificates will be drawn from entries by those visiting all three galleries. Festivities include guest artists who will be demonstrating their work. Refreshments will be served all day. Stop by for a mimosa\, wine\, hors d'oeuvres\, or other tasty treats.\n\n \n\nMullaly's 128 Studio & Gallery\, enjoying its 25th year representing excellence in fine art and craft\, is located on River Street in downtown Elk Rapids. Mullaly's offers the finest selection of high quality glass in northern Michigan\, and has been recognized as the finest jewelry gallery in the area. Artist Rick Koehler will be painting in the gallery throughout the day. To celebrate its 25th anniversary\, Mullaly's will have specials on fine art glass throughout June.\n\n \n\nThe Blue Heron Gallery\, located on Ames Street\, just one-quarter mile east of the light on US 31\, showcases hundreds of Michigan artists. Gallery owner Dan Reszka will be demonstrating watercolors starting at 10am. Other artists who will be demonstrating include Jon Delos Reed with oils at 11am\, Kathy Amerman with weaving at noon\, and Kathy Begala with acrylics at 1:00 p.m.\n\n \n\nAbout a mile south of Elk Rapids\, along US 31\, the Twisted Fish Gallery specializes in fine paintings\, along with pottery\, metal\, wood and jewelry. Their large sculpture garden will be in full bloom\, offering sculptures to enhance your home or business. Visitors can participate in an hourly gift certificate drawing throughout the day. Artist Dick Davis will be demonstrating his metal and leather work from 10am to 5pm and Bob Batchik\, wood carver will be on hand from 10am to 1pm.
