DESCRIPTION:Every year Marines throughout the world celebrate the birthday of the Marine Corps. This year a birthday celebration will be held at the Hacienda Restaurant in Elk Rapids on November 10th. Additionally\, all veterans of any service are cordially invited to join in and be honored for their service to this country. This event is open to everyone! The festivities begin at 6 p.m. with the traditional cake cutting ceremony at 7 p.m. followed by dancing. Dress is military uniform or appropriate civilian attire and tickets are $12.50 per person. Active duty personnel will be admitted free to this event\, but should call ahead so a ticket can be reserved for them. For additional information\, contact Lt. Col. Sam Pfeiffer USMC (Ret) at 231-264-8487. Tickets will be available at the Hacienda Restaurant and AMVETS Post 114 in Elk Rapids and should be purchased prior to this event.
