Dr. Al Arbogast, Chair of the Department of Geography at Michigan State University, is one of the world’s leading experts on coastal sand dunes. Since coming to Michigan nearly 20 years ago, Dr. Arbogast has systematically improved our understanding of the age of coastal sand dunes; including the timing and nature of their development and evolution. In addition to publishing widely on Michigan dunes, he has served as an expert witness on several controversial dune development projects.
