A backpacking though the burgundy region of France, while a junior at MSU, began his journey to grow and produce wine. Larry and his wife Lois Bale live in Sutton's Bay. He has served as a director of the Leelanau Conservancy and played a pivotal role in the formation of the state's first wine trail.
